Calvert Vaux and Kaiser Parks

map image of Calvert Vaux/Kaiser Park

Kaiser Park and Calvert Vaux Park make up the third waterfront park location in the Catalyst initiative. Kaiser is a 27-acre park in community district 13, which is bordered by the Belt Parkway. Kaiser Park boasts a new track and fishing pier and was the site of the Mayoral announcement of Catalyst 3.

Across the Coney Island Creek is Calvert Vaux Park, a 73-acre park for which there are plans to develop and enhance. In 2007 Mayor Bloomberg dedicated funds through PlaNYC for the restoration of Calvert Vaux Park. The park will eventually be connected to one of the first greenways ever proposed by Robert Moses. If you would like to learn more about the renovation plans for Calvert Vaux or Kaiser Parks, please visit their pages on the Parks Department website.
