BOROUGH COALITIONS
To link neighborhood groups further, we support five borough coalitions that organize events and promote park advocacy in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, and Staten Island. Each coalition represents hundreds of individuals and a number of smaller parks groups, civic organizations, corporations, and nonprofits. At monthly meetings and special events, coalition leaders work to develop strategies that meet local needs. Special events like the Bronx Parks Speak Up unify parks supporters within a borough and help to build a citywide network of public space advocates.
To get involved with or to learn more about your borough's coalition, we have listed contact information for each below, or contact your PFP outreach coordinator.

Bronx Coalition for Parks & Green Spaces (BCPGS)
The Bronx Coalition for Parks & Green Spaces values all parks, gardens and green spaces as vital and essential elements that:
Make our communities more livable
Improve public health and well-being
And provide us with opportunities for recreation and to learn about nature
They want to ensure that all of our parks and green spaces have sufficient resources and personnel to be safe, well-maintained, and attractive assets that in turn add value to our local neighborhoods. BCPGS hold the Bronx Speak-Up each year, which educates networks and organizes green space supporters.

SIPA holds monthly general meetings that have included guest speakers such as County Clerk Steven Fiala, Parks Enforcement Patrol Officers, and the SI Police Department and Auxiliary program. During the next year SIPA plans to focus on the networking of park groups on Staten Island by creating a website, developing a SI parks newsletter, and holding other events.
